Volunteering and community awareness
Bodhi Villa attempts to incorporate a lot of community support and awareness into the guesthouse.

Scholarship bicycles are available for hire at 6000r per day. 2000r goes to the Chumkriel Language School to assist poorer students who cannot afford education, books or uniforms.
Laundry is outsourced to help provide reliable income for local Khmer families.
‘Dorsu’ is a micro-finance initiative supported on-site. Local handicrafts, clothes, kromas and souvenirs are available with proceeds going to ‘Chumkriel Learning Centre’.
Environmentally, we encourage mindfulness in discarding rubbish, especially cigarette butts. We limit the use of and recycle plastic, cans, glass and cardboard to local recyclers. Drinking water re-fills is available and encouraged.
Volunteer opportunities
There are plenty of schools to help teach English or local organisations to support or get involved. Think about what you have to offer and check out the Kampot Dar’laing volunteer newsletter www.kampotinteract.org or have a yarn with staff on arrival.
